Whole-House Repiping in Killeen, TX
Rusty water, weak pressure, and leak after leak usually mean one thing: the original galvanized or aging copper lines have reached the end of their life. We repipe whole houses with modern PEX-A or Type L copper — usually in one to three days.
Does your house need repiping?
A lot of Killeen's housing stock was built between the 1960s and the 1990s — the classic brick ranch on a slab, plus the townhouse and duplex waves that came with each post expansion. Many of those homes still run on original galvanized steel lines, or early copper that's been fighting our very hard Belton Lake water for decades.
- Brown or rust-tinted water when you first open a tap
- Pressure that's fine at one fixture and a trickle at the next
- Multiple pinhole leaks or visible corrosion at joints
- Galvanized pipe visible at the water heater or in a closet
- Leaks that keep moving around the house
PEX or copper — which is right here?
PEX-A is what we install most: it resists scale buildup from hard water, flexes through attics without joints, handles our summer heat extremes, and comes in at a lower cost. It's backed by decades of use in Texas. Type L copper remains the premium choice some owners prefer — it tolerates UV and rodents better and can be the right call in specific layouts. We'll walk your house, look at what's there, and give you a written recommendation with pricing for either option.
What a repipe actually looks like
- Day one: walkthrough, protection of floors and furniture, most wall/floor penetrations
- Mid-project: new lines run, fixtures re-connected, water back on each evening when possible
- Finish: pressure test, fixture-by-fixture verification, patch and texture of access holes (included)
Most families stay in the home during the work — we keep at least one bathroom functional overnight whenever the layout allows.
Why landlords and sellers repipe before listing
With roughly half of Killeen renter-occupied and PCS moves turning over properties every summer, a repiped house rents faster, inspects cleaner, and shows up better against comparable listings. We regularly coordinate repipes for owners who live out of state, with photo documentation at every stage.
Warranty & documentation
Repipes include a labor warranty and manufacturer warranties on materials, plus a photo record of the new system before walls close up — keep it with your home file for the next inspection or sale.
Not sure whether you need a repipe or a repair? Ask about a whole-house plumbing evaluation — it's cheaper than guessing wrong.
